CRYSTAL DECANTER REPAIR CHIPPED AND BROKEN NECK

The antique decanter had a large chip and a crack running down and across the neck.  Over the years the large chip that can off was lost.  The crystal decanter was also cloudy on the  inside from decades of use. The stopper was missing also.  The fist challenge was to stop the crack from traveling any farther.

Antique Crystal Candelabra Repair Chipped Glass Missing Piece

The crystal candelabra was broken and the pieces were missing.

Cue out the chipped part.

Fit in new piece off glass.

Its not perfect but when it is back on the candelabra with the prisms installed you won’t be able to see the repair.

Venetian Wine Glass with a broken stem

The family toasting glass  was broken were the stem meets the foot.   The very ornate Venetian wine glass has been in the family for   generations.

Custom made replacement glass for antique cabinet door.  No matter the shape, the size or the type of glass, if it was made I can make it.  I can make bubble glass, bent glass, curved glass, crown glass up to 4 feet by 8 feet.  I also have old glass.   Many times I bend old glass in order to maintain value.

First step smooth out scratches with fine grit.

Antique Glass Paper Weight Repair

Mishandled for years the paper weight had lost its  luster.  The scratches were deep and many.  I knew I could bring it back to its original beauty .

Smooth out the chips with 220 grit sand paper and then 400 grit.

Chandelier Repair make replacement bobeche for antique chandelier restoration

The crystal  bobeche was broken during a move.  Dad  tried to find all the piece but an up short.  Gluing the remains showed a large piece was missing.  I decided that I would make a replacement bobeche.  Filling the hole left by the missing pieces was an option but not a good one

Lalique Crystal Repair cat with chipped ear

The Lalique Crystal cat had a small chip on its ear.  Lalique has a frosted acid etched finish .  The chip really show because it is clear glass.

I custom made a replacement convex bubble glass for an antique cabinet door.  It was an unusual shape. When making a replacement piece it is best to use old glass so the color , blisters and bubbles match.

Crystal repair chandelier bobeche replacement

The bobeche for the antique crystal chandelier was broken and discarded.  The search was on for the replacement part.  None was found.  I made the glass  blank .  Then I  cut , polished and drilled the holes for the pins.  Sent to me from our neighbors to the north Ontario Canada.

This is the crystal blank and I used a diamond saw to cut off the extra.
