Steuben Crystal Repair antique glass fish repair

The antique  glass fish was made by Steuben . Some time ago the fin was broken off and lost.  I made a new fin and attached it.

Crystal Repair Broken Waterford Stem

Sent from New York, New York for restoration the Waterford Crystal wine glass had a broken stem . It was cracked in two places were the stem meets the foot and were the stem meets the bowl.

Replacement glass  for an antique clock . We made for antique clock a cut glass jar that holds mercury .  The cut  crystal  jar is eight sided and is two inches  by three and a half inches by nine inches .  When install in its metal frame it becomes the pendulum for an antique grandfather clock .

The antique  clock sat on  the mantel since the beginning of time . One of the kids went to wind the clock and broke the glass .   I save old glass for clocks like this.  New glass is a different color green and is very flat.  The antique glass has a yellow hue and a distorted finish.  Sometimes the antique glass  has bubbles and blisters .  This is important when it comes to the value of the clock.  An antique  clock with new glass doesn’t retain its resale price.

I have antique beveling machines that run on leather belts.  The same type used to make this antique beveled glass lens originally.  The fitting of the antique replacement beveled glass in the bezel  is very tricky.  The tolerances are with in thousands of an inch.  I make replacement beveled  clock glass for clock shops all over the the country  most of them in New York and LA.

Antique glass repair pressed cake plate

Grandmas antique glass cake plate was broken during washing.  Hot water was the problem it happens over and over again.  I seen it many times.  The good part about heat cracks is they are very clean breaks. The pieces fit back together and there are no small chips.  This  antique glass plate looked great after the repair.

Antique Glass Repair LaLique Crystal Bird Bowl

The bowl had a lot of scratches on the bottom and the bird had chips on its beak and tail .    I reshaped the head and beak .  Then matched the very fine etched finish.  The bottom with all the scratches and ware marks was hard to polish with out removing the signature.

Antique glass repair broken crystal plate

The pieces from  the antique glass plate were shipped to me from Boston Mass. I was able to repair the broken antique  glass plate.  There were several small chips along the cracked edges of the plate.  After putting it back together I polished  out the small chips.

Broken crystal stem are repairable. This Waterford wine glass was broken in three pieces.  I repaired the glass for a fraction of replacement cost.

Crystal Ice Bucket Repair Waterford Glass

The broken Waterford crystal ice bucket was sent to me from Atlanta,  Georgia .  What happened was common   after the party they poured out the ice and then wash it in hot water.  Waterford crystal  can not take the thermal shock.

The antique crystal candlesticks were dropped and broken.  We carefully reassembled them.  Antique glass candlesticks like these after repair set a beautiful dinning table.  Sent to me from Miami Florida for repair. The customer was very happy to get them repair because they came from Grandma.

Antique glass clock repair

I received part of an antique clock and it was cracked .   Repairing the glass was not an option so making a replacement part was the best option. I used a crystal glass ball prism and cut it in half.

With some  minor grinding and polishing the ball prism fit into the brass ring.  Sent from New York City the owner of the antique glass clock was thrilled to put the clock back together.

Antique glass candlestick repair broken crystal top

This is what happens when you let your candles burn down .    When the candle burns down to the bottom the heat from the flame cracks the glass.  Antique crystal candlesticks

To prevent this from happening to your antique crystal candlesticks you can take a drill and drill up from the bottom about two inches . That will  remove the wick from the candle and the flame will go out before it can crack the glass.
