Waterford Crystal Compote
February 14th, 2009 by Marc Konys - posted in All Repair Projects, Bent Glass, Chandelier Bobeche Replacement Parts, Chipped Glass Repair, Clock Glass, Glueings, Waterford Crystal, Waterford Crystal RepairA Large Waterford Crystal Compote with a broken stem needed a little tlc . First to grind and polish the stem were a large chip came out. If it was to big Iwould have to make a filler piece but after grinding it still had a nice shade so I finished the repair. This compote is the first Waterford piece I have repaired that was glued at the factory. This is were the stem and the bowl are make and glued together not put together hot.

When I broke this compote, I wasn’t sure that it could be fixed, but after speaking with Marc via e-mail and phone, he assured me that the piece could be repaired.

I have since received the Waterford Compote back, completely restored to its original condition. You cannot tell that it was ever broken. Marc is a true artist in glasswork. He did a FANTASTIC job. I highly reccomend him.
