Steuben Crystal Vase Repair Sick Glass Cloudy Scratched

This Steuben crystal vase was sent to me for cleaning.  I thought it was sick. ( cloudy from hard water stains) It was not sick it was scratched someone tried to clean it with an abrasive. They made it a lot worse by putting in thousands of scratches up and down in side the vase. I was able to carefully polish them out . Steuben Crystal has one of the highest lead content this is why the glass is clear.

I polished out the scratches on the inside  of the vase and then I polish out the scratches  on the bottom of the vase .

Glass repair Faberge Egg broken glass base

A beautiful red glass ” FABERGE EGG” with a broken base was sent to me for repair.  This piece was made in Russia St. Petersburg as stated on the label. The copper wheel engraving of the double eagle is the main design with a very delicate boarder on the base .

I use a matching red glass to fabricate a new base .  The engraved boarder matched the design of the Faberge Egg.  Glass restoration like this is fun. A little creative thinking and for thought the glass egg will go back on display.

Perfume Bottle make new stopper

A perfume bottle  was sent  in need of a new stopper. They had lost the stopper.

This Crystal decanter  was sent for repair with the broken stopper stuck in the neck of the bottle. First remove the broken piece in the neck .

This Waterford Crystal vase had a broken bottom.   Sent to me with a piece missing and they lost  the piece . My only option was to replace the bottom. I needed a piece  of glass with a star cut in it and it had to be a good crystal. I found a crystal pitcher  that would work so I removed the bottom .

I had to cut off the bottom because they lost the piece that   broke off.
