Crystal Repair chandelier arm

These arms are off a antique crystal candleabra. Made in the 1700 s the wires go on the out side of the arms . There are no holes for the wires to run through. I will get pictures of the chandelier when its complete and post them .  The crystal arms were sent to me for repair from Oregon. The piece has been in the family a long time. I would love to know how it got to Oregon and when. I think it came from England.

I repaired this Antique Glass Chandelier using white cloth covered wire. A little hard to find but worth the time . I like keeping things original when I can. I would have liked  to repainted the candle sleeves they look dirty to me compaired to the new wire. Gramas gone now but the antique glass chandelier is repaired and back at work.

This antique crystal chandelier suffered a broken arm. These kinds of injuries happen all the time. Be careful when you move the dinnig room table so that someone doesn’t walk into the chandlier. Fortunately, broken glass arms from chandeliers are easily repaired, and they hold up very well. This is a small arm, and it is not very old. The older arms are made of solid glass without any space to run the wire, because they were originally made as candelabras.

Work is moving along on the chandelier. We rewired the chandelier and unlike most chandeliers the wires on this piece  when in grooves in the arms not through a hole or tube in the arm.

Antique Glass Repair crystal chandelier

Fifteen year this antique crystal chandelier has been in a box in storage. Only two of the antique glass arms were not broken . Many of the boboches were broken also. Dirty, rusty and in need of new wiring . The restotation of this antique glass chandelier has started with the  dismanteling and cleaning.  The glue that someone used has turned white over the years and must be soaked and removed. I will post my progress in days to come.

Crystal Repair Baccarat Candle Obra

Many broken arms and missing crystals this Baccarat candle obra was a mess when it came to me. It look like a box of trash. Stored in the basement for who knows how long they didn’t know any one to fix it. They found me the old fashion way word of mouth not a google search. A good bath and some tlc this candle obra needs  a grand piano.

Antique Glass Chandelier Broken Crystal Arms

The movers broke several antique crystal arms on this Chandelier .The Chandelier was very dirty and rusty . The pins through the prisms had gotten wet and rusted. Repairing antique glass arms was the easy part.Cleaning and rewiring was the time consuming  part. I used white cloth covered wire per original . The clear plastic wire is less noticable but I like to keep  as authentic as possible .  Two of the strands of prisms were missing  I got lucky and had old ones in stock. I disassembled ,cleaned the glass and polished  the chrome pieces. When moving antique glass chandeliers they should be taken apart to relocate. We installed the restored chandelier in the dinning room .

Antique Glass Repair ; Iused old prisms were I could but I made a new drip prism for the very bottom of the chadelier . Customer didn’t know it was missing  .

Crystal Chandelier Restoration Complete   I enjoyed the transformation  and the client  call the moving company and thanked them. It was upsetting when they broke it  but it look so beautiful now .

An Antique crystal  chandelier  with a broken bobesche hung for many years at  grama’s house . Grama passed and her grandson sent me the broken crystal  cup. I made a mold of the antique crystal chandelier part so I could make a new one. After blowing a couple blanks I dilled the holes and polished the tops. Antique Glass Repair is very rewarding. Grama’s Antique Crystal Chandelier has a new home. Friends and family try and find the new part .
