LaLique Crystal broken Base

This  LaLique Crystal piece was sent to me from Florida for restoration.  The crystal base had a large chip broken off the corner.  The piece that broke off had been lost many years ago so bonding the chip back one was not an option.

By removing the entire base and making a replacement I was able to restore this glass .

Glass repair Faberge Egg broken glass base

A beautiful red glass ” FABERGE EGG” with a broken base was sent to me for repair.  This piece was made in Russia St. Petersburg as stated on the label. The copper wheel engraving of the double eagle is the main design with a very delicate boarder on the base .

I use a matching red glass to fabricate a new base .  The engraved boarder matched the design of the Faberge Egg.  Glass restoration like this is fun. A little creative thinking and for thought the glass egg will go back on display.

This Waterford Crystal vase had a broken bottom.   Sent to me with a piece missing and they lost  the piece . My only option was to replace the bottom. I needed a piece  of glass with a star cut in it and it had to be a good crystal. I found a crystal pitcher  that would work so I removed the bottom .

I had to cut off the bottom because they lost the piece that   broke off.

A very old oil lamp the first of his collection and it got broken.  He sent the pieces to be repaired.  I was able to bond the pieces together and fill the areas were  chips were missing.

My customer emailed the question can you repair a broken crystal lamp even if you don’t have all the pieces.  Yes I can repair glass even if you don’t have all the pieces.

Crystal Repair Antique Glass Stopper

A pair of Antique crystal cruets with a very delicate cut pattern were sent to me for repair.  The one crystal bottle was missing apart of the stopper. They sent along the top of the antique crystal stopper but the bottom had broken off and was lost. They also sent along one good antique cut glass cruet that need a stopper and one good crystal stopper.

Crystal repair like this requires some glass blowing to make the new parts.

The antique cut crystal piece was broken and apiece was missing. I knew I would have to make a new pedal. Antique glass comes in many colors even the clear “crystal” glass. I found in my parts department a piece of antique glass the right color and shape for this repair. I ground and polished the new pedal. Crystal repair is challenging. With the replace pedal finished I beveled the side of the bowl so I would get a good bond. Then cut in the thumb prints design. Being able to grind and polish a piece of glass that been bonded together speaks well of the strength of the adhesive. This repair job came from Pittsburgh Pa. from a very nice lady. Who I quote ” it’s not a bad drive two hours tops a little shopping lunch and were on our way home. Many customers are surprised what kind of damaged crystal can be restored. Most clients after using my services say I didn’t know that could be repaired. I threw away a lot of glass that could have been repaired. I wish I knew about you.

Antique Glass Epergne Repair

Broken into many pieces the antique glass came in for repair. It has been in the family along time and met so much could I repair it.  I told them it would not be perfect but I would do my best .  The first thing I needed to do was give it a bath. Then I dill out the broken fitter ( stopper ) out of the bottom. Then came the  fitting of the pieces to see what was missing.

It was a shame that an antique glass piece the of this quality got broken and needed repair.

If you look close you can see the cracks . It will take just a little creative decoration and it can be displayed for all to enjoy.  Antique crystal with the copper wheel engraving the quality of this piece are rare. Broken crystal after restoration doesn’t all ways come out flawless  but you do have to look close to see the repair. Send in the flowers.

Antique Crystal perfume bottle repair

This glass perfume bottle had an old style repair . They put a silver neck on top of the broken bottle and glued the stopper in.  I removed the old repair and uncovered the broken and missing neck. The stopper was also broken. I made a new neck attached it to the perfume bottle .  Then I ground and fit the old stopper to the new neck. It ready for some over powering  rose sented perfume.

Crystal Repair Broken Swarovski

Swarovski Crystal Elephant broken and missing tusk

The crystal elephant came  in broken and missing a tusk. Reattaching the tusk was the first step.  Them I made a new glass  part  for the Swarovski Elephant using the old glass tusk as a guide. Etching the new glass part to match the old was the final step in the glass restoration.
