The clear plastic wire is less noticable but I like to keep as authentic as possible . Two of the strands of prisms were missing I got lucky and had old ones in stock. I disassembled ,cleaned the glass and polished the chrome pieces. When moving antique glass chandeliers they should be taken apart to relocate. If you forget to put out the candle it will burn down and crack the candle cup. Repairing crystal candlesticks is a challenge. The easy way is to make a new candle cup if all I could do is grind the old one down there wouldn’t be much glass left to hold the candle . Crystal repair on candlesticks can be avoided by drill a small hole up through the bottom of the candle removing the wick. The candle will go out before it can crack the candle cup.
